How can I synchronize time inside the whole forest?

Created 2001-03-19 by Rainer Gerhards.

Fortunately, you normally need not to care about time synchronization. Time is automatically synchronized inside the forest. The root time is obtained from the first server installed at the root of the forest. This time is then distributed to all other servers and workstations inside the forest via the SNTP protocol.

You will make sure that the server at the root of the forest has the correct time. To do so, synchronize it with an reliable external time source.
