Which reliable external Time Servers can I use?

Created 2001-03-19 by Rainer Gerhards.

Windows 2000 uses standard SNTP protocol. Fortunately, there are a number of reliable external time servers available. For a comprehensive list, please visit

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/servers.htm

(or www.ntp.org). There are also two reliable servers operated by the navy. As of this writing,  they are "tick.usno.navy.mil" and "tock.usno.navy.mil" - but please verify.

You can set the time servers via the "net time" command.
